Sorry to be the writer of bad news, but that is the way I see things, and I do not think I am far wrong. I try to keep these things relatively short and readable, so I excluded any consideration of how the EU would approach things, especially given the FPTP electoral system and the prospect of a Tory/Reform government in 3 years. To use a different metaphor. If you get off the train, it is very difficult to get back on again after it has pulled away from the station and continued on its journey.
