A belated comment, but a UK example of disqualification from office is that of Lutfur Rahman. The below is based on Wikipedia, but is accurate. I doubt if those who supported Marine le Pen were equally supportive of Rahman when he was barred from office.

Rahman served as leader of Tower Hamlets Council (2008–2010) for the Labour Party and was initially chosen as its 2010 mayoral candidate (Tower Hamlets being one of the few London boroughs with a directly elected mayor). Following allegations of voter irregularities and links to a fundamentalist group, he was removed as Labour’s candidate and ran successfully as an independent. Re-elected in 2014 under the banner of Tower Hamlets First, his election victory was declared 'null and void' by the Election Court in 2015 due to electoral fraud, leading to his removal from office and a ban from public office until 2021. He was also struck off as a solicitor.

But that was not the end of Rahman. In 2022, after founding the Aspire Party, he was re-elected mayor, with Aspire winning council control.
